In early 2010 I started communications with Maston Davite - a 60 yr old Pastor in Malawi who trudges (walks!) to
villages to take the word of God each and every week. Maston's church is Gospel Harvest Church in Lilongwe -
the second largest city in Malawi. This man of God impressed me. God had placed Africa on my heart.
Then, in early 2011 I was contacted by Pastor Martin Barasa, from Webuye in Kenya. This developed into a prayer
and mentoring relationship. In both cases I discovered that these peoples of Africa with whom God had
connected me were HUNGRY - spiritually very HUNGRY!
To bring you up to date. Around October 2011, Pastor Martin Barasa and his elders requested to become a part
of Practical Christian Living Centers (the parent ministry of The Well). Since that time I have discovered that
Martin was in fact a part of a larger ministry organization of 15 small to medium sized churches. Practical Christian
Living Centers International has since been registered in Nairobi, Kenya and this ministry has now grown to 16
locations - 15 of them in Kenya. I thank the Lord for email, text and Skype!
The objective of this "knitting together" of ministries and God's people is to establish the same kind of outreach
and discipleship training established in Longmont, CO. We will be establishing food pantry, clothes closet,
classrooms and worship space in all of these locations. It is not about simply bringing the Gospel to people, it is
about bringing the Gospel of The King - Jesus, and the leadership and training to establish His Kingdom on earth.
My relationship with Maston in Malawi continues, and we will be able to serve him better from Kenya.
I will keep you updated on events in Kenya and Malawi. We are planning leadership training and revival meetings
in August 2012 - please contact me if you would like to be a part of that team.
